Why Choose Mobile?
There are many ways you can choose to groom. A home based shop may sound like a good idea but for many it’s not desirable, practical or even legal. Many communities won’t allow a home business that has customers coming and going, day in and day out. Working in someone else’s shop is, well, just a job with no control over your career or income.
Renting a shop is costly in many ways. First the cost of rent is high. Then add phone, electric and oh yes… business insurance and your monthly outlay is considerable and all you have to show for all the work of converting the store into a customer friendly environment is a stack of rent and utility receipts. Plus every year your rent will go up, guaranteed! Don’t forget… you will need to keep regular hours too, 5 or 6 days a week from 8 to 5 or 6 PM, whether you have any customers or not. Whoa… who needs that.
Now consider “A Mobile Shop”. All your customers are booked by appointment only. You have total control. Want a 3 day weekend… just book around it. No waiting for after hours pick ups. You own the shop. No rent, no electric bills and your cell phone is you appointment line whether you’re in the shop or not. What about insurance… we’ll talk about that later.
Oh yes… Mobile groomers can charge much more than in-shop groomers. In some areas it’s twice as much and customers are happy to pay extra for the convenience and it’s less stressful on the dog too.

Why a Trailer Instead of a Van Conversion?
There are many reasons why you should consider a Grooming Trailer.
COST…. COST… COST ! Need we say more? A van conversion can cost 60, 80 even over 100,000 dollars. Let’s face it, you’re in business to make money.
Not only is the initial expense cost prohibitive but you need to add a commercial vehicle to your insurance policy or buy a special commercial policy. If your van ever needs to be in the shop, well, you’re out of business till you get it back. Not good.
Our mobile grooming salons are light weight. They can be pulled with virtually any 4, 6 or 8 cylinder pickup truck or SUV. Even many cars can handle our trailers. If your tow vehicle ever breaks down you’re still in business.
W hat about that insurance we mentioned? Most trailers are covered for liability as an extension of your tow vehicle. Please check with your insurance company for specific details as laws very by state. You will only need colission & comprehensive coverage on a trailer.

Why Choose A Hitch On Pet Salon?
Our trailers were designed by Professional Groomers who are pioneers in the mobile pet grooming industry. While “mobile” was in it’s infancy, back in the early 70’s, they were grooming every day in their custom built mobile dog grooming shop. Our grooming family has combined 75 years of mobile grooming experience. Very careful thought and consideration has been put into every detail of this unit. We haven’t added expensive items you might not want or need. We’ve kept the cost down and the value high.
We’ve chosen 6 X 8, 6 X 10 and 6 X 12 ft single axle trailers. (Tandem axles are available) This unit is easily maneuvered and light weight. (under 2500 pounds dry) The 6 X 10 size gives you plenty of room to move about without being so big it’s hard to handle. This light weight rig uses only 2 tires for the lowest possible maintenance costs.
Our Trailers are available in fully “turn key” models. Everything you need is included. From our hydraulic lift grooming table to the high velocity dryer, a windows, lighting and lots more. All you add is towels, pet care products and your grooming tools and you are OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
Please see our complete list of standard equipment on our "Getting Started" page to envision this well appointed shop earning a handsome living for you.
