With gas prices rising at an alarming rate, many Great Groomers think they can't make much money with a mobile unit.
WRONG !
Here is a detailed breakdown of YOUR PROFITS with gasoline priced at $5 a gallon.

If you drive 250 miles per week or 1000 miles per month and your tow vehicle gets 12 MPG, you will use 84 gallons of gas per month. 84 gallons X $5 per gallon = $420 per month fuel charge.

$820 per month are your main expenses. $820 divided by 20 work days a month = $41 per day.
PetGroomer.com states that a national survey of mobile groomers reports an average charge of $61 per dog. If you do only 4 dogs per day and average only $55 per dog (taking large and small breeds into consideration) your daily income will be $220.
$220 X 5 days per week = $1,100 a week or $4,400 per month. Now subtract $820 expenses and your profit is an amazing $3,580 per month.
REMEMBER, you may do more then 4 dogs a day, your average charge may be more then $55, Your fuel costs may be under $5 a gallon and you might drive less then 250 miles a week.
Just Imagine .... doing 6 dogs a day, 5 days a week at $61 per dog. WOW !! that totals $7,320 a month. Over $6,500 profit a month. That's a $78,000 a year income after your trailer payment and fuel cost is deducted. Many mobile groomers do 6 or more dogs a day. You may charge less or more then these samples but we think you get the idea.
